All-MIAA baseball team released

The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association released the 2013 all-MIAA baseball team Thursday morning.

Fort Hays State University's Horace Johnson earned first-team honors at designated hitter.

The junior from Raymore, Mo. hit .336 for the TIgers this spring, starting 40 games. Johnson had nine doubles and nine home runs with 34 RBIs, carrying a .587 slugging percentage and .395 on-base percentage.

Five Tigers picked up honorable-mention honors.

Starting pitcher Tayler Davis (6-5, 5.94 ERA) earned honorable mention as a starting pitcher. Chris Santoscoy (.338, 8 doubles, 19 RBIS) was honorable mention at second base. Jordan Miller (.390, 5 doubles, 23 RBI) was honorable mention in he outfield, and Ryan Busboom (.339, 10 doubles, 9 homers) was honorable mention at utility. Clayton Garland (.388, 11 doubles, 3 homers, 27 RBIs) also was honorable mention outfield.
