ERIE, Colo. -- The Hays Senior Legion baseball team, originally scheduled to play in a tournament at Canon City, Colo., split a doubleheader Saturday against Ralston, Neb., in Erie, Colo. In Saturday's split, Hays fell 7-6 in the opener, then took Game 2 10-0 in six innings against Ralston.

Hays (8-7) rallied from a 7-3 deficit in the seventh inning of Game 1 with three runs, but fell just short, leaving the tying run at first base when John Griffith flew out to center field. Marcus Altman took the loss in four innings. He gave up seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits with two walks and strikeout, before Brady Bieker came on in relief.

In the nightcap, Parker through a no-hitter through five innings. He struck out six and walked two. Bittel, Hutchison, Rule and Griffith each had two RBIs.
