BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- The Hays Eagles Legion baseball team lost its first game of the Blue Springs Tournament, falling to Jefferson City, 4-2, on Wednesday.

Jefferson City scored its first run in the bottom of the first inning on a fielder's choice RBI. Hays added a run each in the second and third innings and led 2-1 entering the bottom of the fifth. That's when Jefferson City tacked on three final runs, aided by two Eagle errors.

Kaden Rohr took the loss for Hays, pitching all six innings. He allowed seven hits and one earned run with four strikeouts. Rohr and Connor Rule were responsible for each of the Eagles' runs, with Cole Schumacher getting the lone RBI.

Hays, now 23-7, is scheduled to continue tournament play today.
