TMP boys' golf third at Goodland

GOODLAND -- The Thomas More Prep-Marian boys' golf team took third out of 13 teams on Tuesday at the Goodland Invitational, the Monarchs first meet of the season. TMP finished with 356 points, falling short of Goodland's 333 points and Ulysses' 355 points. The Hays High School junior varsity team finished fifth with 375 points.

Junior Max Megaffin led the Monarchs with an 82 to finish in sixth place. He defeated Rawlins County's Jake Williams in a playoff TMP sophomore Hayden Rohr finished 10th with an 87.

Other TMP golfers included juniors Lane Fisher (92), Dan O'Connor (95), Joe Heimann (102), and Keynan Hystem (110). Goodland's Gage Ihrig won the tournament with a 74 after defeating Oberlin's Kelly Brown in a playoff. Ellis' Skyler Tebo took third with a 79.
