The Fort Hays State University wrestling team, No. 6 in NCAA Division II, had little trouble in a 36-15 dual win over Newman University on Sunday at Gross Memorial Coliseum.

The Tigers (7-4, 1-2 MIAA) only lost one head to head matchup when Newman's Steven Cooksley took a decision over FHSU's Chad Rous at 197 pounds. The other two Newman wins came via forfeit at 125 pounds and 285 pounds.

Three Tigers won via pin against Newman: Charles Napier defeated Wyatt Wade at 141 pounds in 3:39, Noah Killip defeated Zach Duwe at 149 pounds in 1:58, and Mitchell Means pinned Colton Duhr at 157 pounds in 2:33.

Symon Seaton (133 lbs.) and Bradley Little (165 lbs.) won by decision for FHSU, while Josh Rodriguez won by technical fall at 174 pounds. The other Tiger win belonged to Jon Inman at 184 pounds via forfeit.

It was the first MIAA win for FHSU, while Newman dropped to 0-10, 0-4 MIAA.

FHSU will host its final regular-season home dual on Thursday against Central Missouri at 7 p.m. in GMC.
