Medal of Honor ceremony will be shown live
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Thursday, the Congressional Medal of Honor will be awarded to Father Emil Kapaun’s family in recognition of the heroism he displayed during his service in the Korean War. Since 2009, the Kansas Congressional delegation has worked to award the Medal of Honor to Kapaun.
U.S. Sens. Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran, both Kansas Republicans, released the following joint statement:
“No one is more deserving of the Medal of Honor than Father Kapaun. His story of self-sacrifice is legendary, and he has inspired many with his unshakable faith and relentless courage. This honor is long overdue and we are pleased that Father Kapaun’s countless acts of heroism with finally be recognized with this distinguished award.”

At 1 p.m. Friday, Kapaun also will be inducted into the Hall of Heroes at the Pentagon. The ceremony can be seen HERE.
