(MCT) Saint Luke's Hospital plans to hold a grand opening Wednesday at its new satellite transplant clinic in Wichita.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based hospital, which announced plans for the clinic in July, said the event will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the clinic at 1035 N. Emporia, Suite 185, which is just northwest of Via Christi St. Francis.

Saint Luke's officials said in a news release that the clinic will collaborate with area doctors to provide kidney transplant evaluation. The clinic also will provide pre- and post-transplant care. The clinic's phone number is 316-303-1045.

Via Christi announced in May that it was ending its plans to restart its kidney transplant program. It was the only health facility in the region that offered kidney transplants.
