Tigers earn All-American nods

Two players from the Fort Hays State University men's soccer team earned national recognition Wednesday.

Diego Cabral and Ricardo Yeverino were named honorable mention on the Daktronics Division II All-America Team, announced Wednesday.

The duo were key players in the Tigers' 12-5-3 finish and finals appearance in the NCAA Division II Central Regional tournament.

Yeverino, from Dodge City, led the Tigers with 28 points (11 goals, six assists). Yeverino had a .585 shot-on-goal percentage and produced four game-winning goals in 1,485 minutes played.

Cabral, from Asuncion, Paraguay, scored 23 points (eight goals, seven assists) from his midfield/forward spot. He played 1,598 minutes with two game-winners, 48 corner kicks and carried a .481 shot-on-goal percentage. Cabral is in his third season with the Tigers and is the young program's career leader in points (66), assists (26) and shots (158).
