HHS soccer rallies for victory

JUNCTION CITY -- The Hays High School girls' soccer team rallied from a 2-0 deficit on Monday to eventually win at Junction City High School, 5-2. The win is the third consecutive come-from-behind win for the Indians, and improves their season record to 5-2.

The Bluejays led 1-0 after a goal in the fifth minute of the game and 2-0 after a goal in the 28th minute. Hays High got on the board with a penalty kick goal by Rachel Luedders in the 33rd minute. The Indians trailed 2-1 at halftime.

Alexa Brull tied the game in the 49th minute via a Brooke Russell corner kick. Brull then gave the Indians their first lead at 3-2 with a goal in the 54th minute, assist by Talyn Kleweno.

Late goals by Blair Street and Tressa Becker put the game away.

The Indians will host Great Bend today at 4 p.m. at the HHS Field.
