HHS swimming competes at Manhattan

MANHATTAN -- The Hays High School boys' swimming team settled for a fifth-place finish on Wednesday at a meet in Manhattan. The Indians finished with a team score of 158, while Manhattan won the meet with 372 points. Salina Central (297), Salina South (294) and Junction City (231) also competed.

Tommy Consiglio took first place in the 200 Free and Morgan Mathews took first in the 100 Fly. Mathews also took third in the 50 Free, the same event Consiglio took fifth in.

Austin Chambers added a fifth-place finish in the 100 Free and third place in the 100 Breast Stroke, Ben Rajewski fourth place in the 500 Free, and the 400 Free Relay team of Mathews, Chambers, Consiglio and Boone Pruter took third.

Hays High is now off for the holiday break, and will next compete at Salina South on Jan. 9.
