Indian tennis fourth in Great Bend

GREAT BEND --  The Hays High girls' tennis team took fourth out of six teams in Great Bend on Tuesday. Great Bend won the tournament with a team score of 21, followed by Sterling with 20 and Larned with 15. Meade and Dodge City rounded out the teams with 10 and 6 points, respectively.

The Indians No. 1 singles player, Brooke Forinash, went 1-2, the lone win coming against Dodge City's Taylor Fischer, 8-6. Julie Balzer, the No. 2 singles player, went 2-1, the loss coming to Brienna Schartz of Great Bend, 8-2.

Both of Hays High's doubles teams went 1-2, with each duo opening with losses to a pair from Great Bend, followed up with a win over Meade and loss to Sterling.

The Indians will travel to Salina Central for a tournament Saturday.
