HHS tennis competes Thursday in Dodge

DODGE CITY -- The Hays High girls' tennis team continued its varsity season at Dodge City on Thursday. Both singles players took fourth place. No. 1 singles player Brooke Forinash went 2-2, dropping her opener. No. 2 singles player Julie Balzer defeated Meade's Grace Piteo 8-2 in her first match, but only won two of the last three.

Ashley Cossaart and Abbey Rupke, the No. 2 doubles team, took second place, their only loss coming 8-1 to Garden City in their final match. The No. 1 doubles team of Kelsee DeBoer and Emily McPherson took fourth place. Hays High will play at Garden City on Sept. 28.
