Indian boys second at Salina

SALINA -- Both the boys' and girls' cross country teams at Hays High School took top four finishes at the Salina Central meet on Saturday.

The boys took second place with 87 points, well behind Maize South's 46.

Senior Landon Munsch led the Indians with a 13th-place time of 18 minutes, 6 seconds in the 5K race. Freshman Zachary Hopp was the other varsity medalist for Hays High, finishing 15th in 18:12.

The girls' team took fourth place out of seven teams with a score of 104. Marie Reveles, who celebrated her birthday on Saturday, took 5th place with a time of 16 minutes, 43 seconds in the 4K race. Haley George also medaled with a time of 17:29 for 18th place.

Next for Hays High is a trip to Great Bend for the WAC championship meet on Oct. 17. Cross country regionals get underway on Oct. 26.
