* Travis Coop, Portis, was close to qualifying for Monday night's hobby stock feature. But his fifth-place finish in his heat race wasn't quite good enough. He earned valuable points, though, with a third-place finish in one of the seven B mains.
* Great Bend's Brenden Damon earned his best heat race finish at Super Nationals. He was third in his sport mod heat. Beloit's Kaid Calhoon, who qualified for the big show in 2012, was third in his heat. Jeremy Sigler finished 10th in his heat, failing to make the night's qualifier, while Matthew Crowell of Clearwater was sixth in his heat. Austin Carter, Beloit, was running third in his heat before spinning and finishing sixth, while Kurtis Pihl of Lindsborg was fifth in his heat. Mike Appel of Dodge City was ninth in his heat, while Tyler Sutton of Beloit was ninth in his heat.
