Fort Hays alums ready to talk tech

The College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Fort Hays State University is hosting two entrepreneurial speakers at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Robbins Center.
The department's Entrepreneur Direct speaker series brings students and entrepreneurs together in a casual setting for questions and advice during the free program.
Joseph Galante, alumnus of FHSU and a member of the enterprise customers and technology partnerships team at Square Inc., will share his experiences working at the startup company that now processes $15 billion in payments annually. Square Inc. makes a technology that allows iPhones, iPads, Android devices and the Microsoft Surface tablet to process debit and credit cards.
During his time at FHSU, Galante was a reporter at The Hays Daily News.
Michael Farmer, co-founder and chief executive officer of Leap2 LLC, has experience in the tech industry. Farmer has been a senior manager at several companies, helped launch four companies, raised $7 million in capital funds and been involved with registering 10 patents. Leap2 is a search engine that features social media posts, news, images and local results with one click.
The program's prior speakers have included app developers, the co-founder of JanSport, the founder of several hotels and other successful business professionals, according to the program's website.
