The Ellis County Fair opens Saturday and continues through July 20.
It's the place to be for funnel cakes, barbecue and burgers, carnival rides and games, midway acts and main-stage events.
Events include races at RPM Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, with school bus races Saturday.
The KPRA Rodeo with mutton bustin' is Tuesday and Wednesday.
Cody Canada and the Departed perform July 18 at RPM Speedway.
July 19 and 20 are demolition derby nights, with combines taking the field July 19 along with a hot rod garden tractor pull, and a regular demo derby July 20. Events start at 7 p.m.
Fairgoers can take in free acts on the midway, said Jill Pfannenstiel, president of the Ellis County fair board.
Hedricks' pig races, three times a night Tuesday through July 19 on the midway, are new to the fair and likely the area.
Pfannenstiel said she's seen them at the state fair.
"They're really popular at the state fair," where it's often standing room only, she said.
Professor Farquar also will perform his medicine show, along with Polecat Annie. They will alternate show times on the midway with Randy's Music Jam.
Participants can take the stage for karaoke Wednesday, and a variety of bands will perform other nights.
Radio Disney presents the Safety Zone with KDOT from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 20.
"It's the ultimate safety challenge game show," Pfannenstiel said.
Big Shoes Entertainment, featuring a clown and face painting, will be evenings Tuesday through July 19 in the Unrein Building.
