K-State horticulture night will be in Colby

COLBY Kansas State University will host the 2013 Horticulture Night at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Kansas State Northwest Research-Extension Center in Colby.
The program is designed to provide information specifically tailored to growing plants in the sometimes challenging western Kansas climate.
Presentations by K-State Research and Extension horticulture staff and specialists and local presenters include:
* Aquaponics: Growing Edible Fish Species and Organic Vegetables in Recirculating Ecosystems -- Rodney Zimmerman and Alice Hill;
* Turf grass care and problem solving -- Jared Hoyer;
* Vegetable garden care and problem solving -- Cary Rivard; and
* Prairie Star annual flower trials -- Alan Stevens.
