Ellis County Public Works director set to resume work this week

Ellis County Public Works Director Mike Graf, who has taken paid time off since the week before Thanksgiving due to health issues, hopes to return on a part-time basis this week.
"I'll probably (be) part-time, still got quite a few doctor appointments I got to deal with," Graf said Friday. "Getting better, I guess. Got a long way to go."
In Graf's absence, Ellis County Administrator Greg Sund said Public Works was being managed by Curt Hoffman for road and bridge; Mark Polifka for the public works shop; Gary Haas for weed control; and Richard Grizzle for the landfill.
"They're doing a great job," Ellis County Commissioner Dean Haselhorst said. "No complaints at all; they're filling in great."
Haselhorst said he has checked in on how things are going a few times.
"I stop by to see how some of the projects are going, but I haven't helped out at all," he said. "I know Curt talks to Mike on a pretty regular basis."
