Briseno: Save water

Hays Assistant City Manager Paul Briseno gave residents a water conservation reminder during Tuesday morning's press briefing at city hall. The city, still in a water watch, lost considerable water resources due to a water main break in the downtown area Monday and the train derailment fire.

Monday's water main break occurred in an 8-inch line, he said. He was unable to estimate the amount of water lost, but said he speculated the cause of the break was drought conditions the last two or three years.
