Two Hays residents remained in the Ellis County jail Tuesday, arrested by Hays Police in connection with recent unrelated altercations.
The most recent arrest came Monday evening, when police were called to the 200 block of West 17th Street, according to Assistant Hays Police Chief Brian Dawson.
There, police took into custody Dennis L. Schleder Jr., 41, Hays, in connection with aggravated assault and domestic battery.
Dawson said police were told Schleder allegedly held a knife to his ex-girlfriend's face. He allegedly head-butted her after the two got into an argument.
No one was seriously injured in the incident.
Early Saturday morning, 39-year-old Billy T. Huskey, Hays, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery outside the Wild Rose, 109 W. Seventh.
Dawson said police and an ambulance were called to the Rose to the report of a man unconscious in the parking lot. The 20-year-old individual still was unconscious when authorities arrived, and he was taken to Hays Medical Center for treatment. He reportedly suffered a concussion.
During the course of the investigation, Huskey was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery. Other charges are pending against Huskey, Dawson said.
