Increased fees unlikely to be used to hire teachers
By The Hays Daily News
It’s unlikely Hays USD 489 will use money from increased fees to hire more teachers to reduce class sizes.
Board of education members discussed at Monday night’s work session how the money from the fee increase would be used by the district.
Superintendent Dean Katt said unless enrollment numbers change, he doesn’t recommend hiring additional teachers.
The board will discuss the fee increase at the next board meeting Monday night.
