City helping with tree limb removal
Special to The Hays Daily News
Due to storms in the early morning hours today that caused significant tree damage and resulting debris, the city began picking up tree limbs across the city.
Initially, all efforts are made to clear the city streets, sidewalks and alleys. Once all public transportation areas have been completed, the city will assist property owners by completing a city-wide cleanup of tree debris.
Homeowners have until 7 a.m. Monday to remove tree limbs that have fallen on private property and place those limbs along the curb, but not in the street or over sidewalks. Limbs not placed for pickup by 7 a.m. Monday will become the property owner’s responsibility.
City staff will not enter private property to assist with limb removal.
