County commission to consider travel request
The Ellis County Commission will discuss a travel request and consider another trip at its 5 p.m. meeting Monday at the Ellis County Courthouse.
Commissioner Dean Haselhorst has requested the county pay half of the expenses for a conference in Las Vegas, which occurs every three years and showcases heavy equipment. Haselhorst's employer would pay for the other half of expenses.
In addition, the commission will consider sending county representatives, as well as a commissioner, to a proposed trip to China with representatives from the city of Hays.
In other business:
* Commissioners will consider a resolution that would authorize the county to receive a portion of the insurance proceeds on any building or other structure destroyed by fire, wind or explosion.
* Commissioners will be provided the monthly Extension report.
* Commissioners will receive a recommendation on how to move forward in the county's environmental, planning and zoning office after the retirement last year of Dale Wing.
