Drug take-back brings in 136 pounds
By The Hays Daily News
The Ellis County Sheriff's office collected 136 pounds of prescription drugs as part of a drug take-back day.
That's twice as much as the sheriff's office has received in previous years, according to Ellis County Sheriff's detective Chuck White.
The program is part of an effort to get unused drugs out of circulation to prevent the possibility of accidental overdoses. It's also a way to ensure the drugs aren't flushed into sewer systems.
