Shultz receives nod for Insurance Commissioner
McPHERSON -- Sen. Ralph Ostmeyer, R-Grinnell, and Rep. Travis Couture-Lovelady, R-Palco, announced their endorsement of Senate Federal and State Affairs Committee Vice Chairman Clark Shultz for Insurance Commissioner.
"Clark Shultz is the only person in state history to serve as Rules Chairman under four different Speakers of the House. This fact exemplifies Clark's character, fairness and leadership abilities to serve. I support Sen. Shultz for Kansas Insurance Commissioner," Ostmeyer said.
Couture-Lovelady said, "With all the adverse affects Kansans are experiencing due to Obamacare it is more important now than ever that Kansas have an insurance commissioner who will fight for Kansas values."
Shultz served as chairman of the House Insurance Committee from 2005 to 2014. He is a licensed title insurance agent and spent a decade as a compliance auditor in the insurance industry.
