Canceled flights strands students in Denver
Canceled flights through Great Lakes Airlines stranded at least 15 Thomas More-Prep Marian High School students in Denver this weekend.
The carrier's personnel shortages prompted the cancellations, according to a message posted on TMP's website.
"We've got 15-plus students that are trying to get in this weekend that are having to either take shuttles to be driven, and we'll pick up some. I think Great Lakes is bringing some," said Michelle Fairbank, TMP director of residential life.
The setback caused frustration among many parents who called the school to ask if their children could be flown to Hays.
"Our kids and our families have paid really good money for airplane tickets, and we're having to drive them five hours," Fairbank said.
The high school resumes classes Tuesday.
