Flood watch issued for area
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for portions of northwest Kansas. The watch is from Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
With some areas of ground saturated already from recent rains, NWS is expecting the chance for more rain to fall — some heavy at times.
The watch includes Trego, Ellis and Rush counties.
The NWS said several inches of precipitation might cause areal flooding in low-lying areas, elevated creeks and rivers, and roads near ditches.
The watch means only that there is a potential for flooding in these areas.
