Hays Public Library to host folk music concert

The sounds of folk Americana music infused with bluegrass and jazz will fill the Schmidt Gallery Wendesday as musicians Stephanie Bettman and Luke Halpin stop by for a 6:30 p.m. concert.

The well-traveled duo calls itself Bettman and Halpin and has won numerous competitions, including grand prize winners at So-Cal Live Acoustic Music Competition, winner of Topanga Banjo/Fiddle Contest, and were named in Music Connection's Top 25 New Music Critiques. They have been traveling together since 2008 and describe their music as "up-tempo, down-home fiddlin', soulful sorrowful ballads, and super hooky folk/pop." They create an eclectic sound that is geared toward audiences of all ages.
