Four arrested in meth bust
By MIKE CORN
Four people were arrested Thursday when members of the Ellis County Drug Enforcement Unit executed four search warrants in Hays and Ellis.
The drug unit also seized 2.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an unspecified amount of cash, according to a statement issued by Ellis County Undersheriff Bruce Hertel.
Depending on its quality,
prices for methamphetamine vary widely. In Kansas, however, prices are thought to range from $11,00 to $15,000 a pound.
The search warrants, executed at two homes in Ellis and two in Hays, were the culmination of an ongoing narcotic trafficking investigation that resulted in the arrest of three men and one woman. The people arrested ranged in age from 25 to 46 years old.
All four people, who were not immediately identified, were booked into the Ellis County Jail pending the filing of charges.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s office and the Ellis and Hays police departments assisted in the execution of the search warrants.
