Local business eyes expansion

Key Office, located at 2010 Vine inside Prairie Print Shop, announced Friday it is expanding within the Hays market.
Key Office is a Kansas owned commercial office products and document solutions company. The company will be expanding to a new location in the future, but Bill Dinkel, Hays area manager, said he is not prepared to provide details about the move right now.
Key Office, which has been in business since 1971, is a certified distributor for sales and services of Canon and Xerox products. The company also offers a customer catalog of more than 35,000 office supplies, including large office equipment and furniture.
"We are expanding in Hays because we found an opportunity and like the business climate," Dinkel said. "But more importantly, we see an opportunity that brings value to the Hays community."
Dinkel, a graduate of Fort Hays State University and a local Hays resident, was selected as area manager due to his background in sales and management. His most recent experience includes sales of office equipment for a global information and technology company.
"As area manager, I explore partnerships with local businesses and deal with the logistics of the company," Dinkel said.
Dinkel will be assisted by Brandon Martinez, account manager.
The Hays location also is supported by 40 associates and eight service technicians located in several of the Kansas distribution centers.
"Once we are in our new location, we definitely have an expectation of hiring more employees," Dinkel said.
Serving the Salina, Dodge City, Garden City and Junction City territories, Key Office assists more than 7,000 customers, and according to Dinkel, the company is continuing to expand as it pursues growth throughout the state.
"We are absolutely growing bigger," Dinkel said. "We don't put any limits on our growth, but we want to know we have the ability to handle growth in Hays."
