WaKeeney resident earns appointment

TOPEKA -- Gov. Sam Brownback this week announced appointments to boards and commissions.
"I appreciate the time and talents these Kansans have given to our state," Governor Brownback said. "Without their service our state would not be as great."

Angel Shaver, WaKeeney, was appointed to a three-year term on the Kansas State Rehabilitation Council. The council works in partnership with Kansans with disabilities to achieve goals for employment and independence. Shaver earned a bachelor's degree from Mid-America Bible College and a master's degree from Friends University. She is a secretary at WaKeeney Church of God and bookkeeper for Hillman Family Trust.
