The sale and use of fireworks in the cities of Hays, Schoenchen and Victoria, as well as the rural areas of Ellis County, is prohibited this year during the holiday.
Also Monday, the city OK'd a resolution to write a letter to the state requesting a six-month extension for the implementation of the concealed carry law, which goes into effect July 1.
