Two Hays residents hurt in accident

Two Hays residents were injured in an accident Thursday afternoon 4 miles west of Hays on Interstate 70.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2001 Buick driven by Celesta Herl, 83, was westbound on I-70 when it drifted off the roadway. The driver overcorrected and lost control. The car overturned in the north ditch.

The driver and a passenger, Moris Herl, 81, were transported to Hays Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries. Both were wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
