More interim superintendent candidates interviewed
Hays USD 489 Board of Education members continued interviews of the five candidates for interim superintendent Friday afternoon.
The three candidates scheduled for interviews Friday afternoon were Joe Harrison, who retired in June as Beloit USD 273 superintendent; Dan Stiffler, who resigned as Buhler USD 313 superintendent in April; and Jim Lentz, a leadership consultant at Southwest Plains Regional Service Center in Sublette and former superintendent for Augusta USD 402.
Two candidates, Dean Katt, who resigned as Ottawa USD 290 superintendent in March, and Rex Bollinger, superintendent at Doniphan West USD 111 in Highland, were interviewed before the lunch break.
Board president Greg Schwartz said he's hoping the board can make a decision Monday about an interim superintendent.
The interim will replace Superintendent Will Roth, who is retiring Oct. 1.
Board member Danielle Robben was absent from the special meeting.
