Ribbon-cutting set for Sherman County interstate


GOODLAND -- The Kansas Department of Transportation will cut the ribbon at 3 p.m. Oct. 14 to mark the completion of an Interstate 70 reconstruction project in Sherman County. The vent will be near Ruleton, just west of Goodland.

Keynote speakers for the event include Kansas Secretary of Transportation Mike King and David Howard president and CEO of Koss Construction Co.

The event marks the completion of the three-year project to rebuild both east and westbound lanes of I-70 from the Colorado/Kansas border, 12 miles into Kansas.

Topeka-based Koss was the prime contractor for the $48 million project.
