The Eggs & Issues legislative forums provide legislators, including state Rep. Sue Boldra, R-Hays, an opportunity to receive feedback from constituents.

"We're working for them. They are our employers, and I'm just an employee," Boldra said.

"I think it's so important to get constituents ... (to) tell us what we need to do."

The first of three Eggs & Issues forums for the legislative session is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday at Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum of Natural History, 3000 Sternberg.

A light breakfast will be served prior to the start of the forum.

The event is free to the public, but an RSVP is requested either by email at hayscc@discoverhays.com or by calling (785) 628-8201.

In addition to Boldra, who represents the 111th district in the state Legislature, Rep. Travis Couture-Lovelady, R-Palco, from the 110th district, and state Sen. Ralph Ostmeyer, R-Grinnell, representing the 40th district, also are scheduled to attend.

"It's very important for us to come back and talk to constituents," said Boldra, who like Couture-Lovelady, was a first-year lawmaker in the 2013 session.

Boldra said she still doesn't feel at home at the forums.

"I'm never an old pro; I'm still anxious," she said.

"I worked hard for this job, and I need to do it well."
