Logan man dies in overnight fire
LOGAN -- A 45-year-old Logan man died as a result of injuries he suffered in an early Saturday morning fire at 305 W. North in Logan.
The Phillips County Sheriff's office identified the man as Mark L. Runnion.
According to a statement from the sheriff's office, a "good portion of the residence was fully engulfed in flames" when the Logan Fire Department was called to the fire at 2:28 a.m. Saturday.
The fire department extinguished the fire and then was able to conduct rescue operations.
Runnion's body was pulled from the home. The sheriff's office said he died as a result of injuries suffered in the fire at the home.
The fire is under investigation by the Phillips County Sheriff's office and the Kansas State Fire Marshal's office.
