NORTON -- The Norton Police Department is seeking information on the possible whereabouts and welfare of a Norton woman missing since Aug. 13.

Mary Hicks, 64, was last seen driving a blue Jeep Liberty, and apparently made a call on her cellular phone at 9:05 a.m. Aug. 13 in the Hays area.

"No one's seen or heard from her," Norton Police officer Michelle Shannon said Monday.

Hicks apparently left a suicide note to her sister prior to leaving the Norton area.

As a result, Norton authorities are concerned about her welfare, Shannon said.

She is approximately 5-feet, 7-inches tall, weighing somewhere between 275 and 300 pounds, with white hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about Hicks is asked to call the Norton Police Department at (785) 877-5010.
