Norton voters reject school bond issue

Norton voters reject school bond issue

NORTON -- Voters rejected a $14.8 million bond issue for school improvements for Norton USD 211 at Tuesday's election.

Forty-one percent of registered voters came to the polls and defeated the measure by a 628 to 466 total.

Superintendent Greg Mann believes the bond was not passed due to the possible expense and a lack of explaining the needs to the community.

"We had a full list of project ideas," he said. "We really appreciate people who supported the project."

The bill will be revisited in next April's election.

"We'll talk about it in the board meeting and see what everyone wants to do," Mann said.
