Overbey resigns as HaysMed CFO
By ELIZABETH GOLDEN
Bill Overbey, chief financial officer at Hays Medical Center, resigned Tuesday.
He had been with HaysMed for 12 years.
"Bill was a key contributor to the financial success of the hospital," said Shae Veach, vice president of regional operations and marketing. "We wish him and his family all the best."
Overbey said it was a tremendous honor to work for HaysMed, and he thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity.
"I wish the hospital much success in the future," he said.
Both parties declined to provide the specific reason for the resignation.
"I'm currently searching for my next opportunity," Overbey said.
Andy Beck, HaysMed controller, was named interim CFO.
Beck, originally from Claflin, is a graduate of Fort Hays State University and a certified public account.
"He began as an account manager in 1994," Veach said. "He has a good, long history with us."
The hospital will continue to search for a permanent replacement, Veach said. This will include internal and external candidates.
