Scott Braun is looking for a few homes to paint.
But before everyone starts calling, there are requirements that must be met before the noon Rotary Club will get to work in its annual paint-a-thon, already scheduled for Sept. 13.
This is the group's third year painting houses. Painting will begin at approximately 8 a.m.
This year, Braun said, the group's service project will include painting two homes.
The requirements mandate the requests must come from someone 60 years old or older or suffer from a disability. Income eligibility also will be taken into account, Braun said.
Based on requests, the Rotary Club will pick two homes, and they will be painted at no expense to the owner.
Paint is being donated by Home Depot, he said, and Pizza Hut is donating pizza for lunch -- a pretty tall order considering volunteers from Tigers in Service will do the painting.
Last year, Braun said, more than 100 people volunteered to paint two houses.
To apply, call Braun at (785) 623-1019 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Several requests already have been filed, and they are being considered. But he's looking for more applications.
The project is limited to Hays, but Braun said as it grows, they might expand it to all of Ellis County.
