WICHITA -- The Kansas Department of Commerce and International Trade Coordinating Council recognized Swift Bullet Co., Quinter, as runner-up for the Governor's Exporter of the Year Award, a prestigious honor bestowed upon the company for its exceptional performance in the competitive arena of international marketing.

The second-place finish was the company's first, but its nomination and placement among the top-five finalists were repeat performances, as Swift earned nomination and finalist recognition in 2013.

Bill Hober, owner of Swift Bullet Co. accepted the runner-up award from Gov. Sam Brownbeck at the Team Kansas Awards banquet in Wichita.

"As a small company from a modest community, to be recognized in consecutive years for international marketing excellence is a significant achievement," Hober said. "We're thrilled to be a finalist and runner-up, but we hope to win it next year."
