Ellis County Sheriff investigating vandalism


The Ellis County Sheriff's office is investigating two reports vandalism that occurred after dark Dec. 19.

Vandals forced entry into a home in the 2600 block of Catharine Road, ransacking every room and damaging property. The material loss is estimated to be as high as $25,000, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.

Another incident, believed to be related, involved farm and oilfield equipment in the 2500 and 2600 blocks of Cathedral Avenue in northern Ellis County. A truck, livestock building and oilfield equipment were damaged. The loss is estimated at $50,000 to $100,000.
