Cold, snow will continue today

Cold, snow expected to continue today

By The Hays Daily News

Don't pack away winter clothing just yet -- at least not until next week.

Bitterly cold temperatures through today and Monday morning should turn much warmer by mid-week, according to the National Weather Service in Dodge City.

First, folks in the Hays area will have to brave the cold and snow for a few more days.

From 2 to 4 inches of snow was forecast overnight and into today, with an overnight low of zero degrees and a high of only 7 for today.

It is expected to get even colder -- possibly as low as minus-5 -- tonight before warming up to 20 degrees by Monday, the lower 40s by Tuesday and possibly as high as 60 by Thursday.

A meteorologist at the NWS said temperatures then are expected to "be considerably warmer from there on."
