What to believe?

What to believe?

And, whom to believe?

Today's world of American politics makes one's head spin.

To say that this country is not one big mess would be admitting ignorance, maybe insanity.

This mess, not seen for decades, begs the question. Who's fault is it? Looking at the political landscape of our government today, do we blame Democrats or do we blame Republicans? What to believe and whom?

For example, who was to blame for the sequester that reduced government spending? The reductions in spending were relatively small, but did the GOP get hammered for the sequester even though the whole concept of the sequester originated from the White House?

Shouldn't there be cutbacks with an out of control government? Did I read recently that tax revenues are at record highs, yet we are still adding to that $17 trillion national debt?

Who caused the shutdown? Actually, it was a "slowdown" and not a shutdown, but do we ostracize Republicans? If you get your news from mainstream media, we should. I read that Obama and Democrats welcomed the sequester and the shutdown knowing, with the help of the Obama state-run media, Republicans would get blamed more than Democrats even though Reps in Congress voted to fund all major entities severely impacted by the shutdown. What did the Democratic leader in the Senate do with appropriations bills sent over by the Republican House? Harry Reid wouldn't even bring the bills up for a vote.

Surely readers (that is, the informed ones) know by now Obama and company made every effort to inflict as much pain as possible on the American people during the shutdown in order to blame Republicans. A fed whistleblower working in the Grand Canyon national park said orders came from above to inflict as much pain as possible.

Seems to me facts don't matter in today's politics. We have a president who spends the majority of his time figuring out how to blame the GOP for this country's problems and with the help of mainstream media our problems of unemployment, over spending, fraud, cronyism, etc., aren't even associated with Obama. Nothing is his fault. It's the fault of the GOP.

Keep in mind that a good many polls that blamed the GOP for our country's problems were doctored and media had much to do with protecting our Democrat president.

Here's what readers need to think about.

We have an administration that has been caught in one lie after another. Obama lied in 2008 when campaigning about being transparent, about being bipartisan and changing Washington.

The lies, the coverups, the stonewalling are all over the place. There's Fast and Furious, Benghazi, NSA spying, IRS targeting, and now we have the Obamacare Affordable (unaffordable for millions) Care Act.

Obama said we can keep our doctor and our old insurance plan. He said that 30 some times. Obamacare mandates that became law three years ago clearly prevent that from happening and Obama had to know that was the case. No previous president in American history has told a bigger lie and told it more often than Obama and for the sole purpose to be re-elected.

I know who I blame for this country's problems. How can anybody in their right mind trust this president in anything he says or anything he does? Nor do I trust mainstream media still trying to defend him.

Does anybody in their right mind believe George W. Bush would not have been impeached for any number of issues and scandals we are witnessing in today's government but particularly all those Obamacare lies?
