Term limits are first step

Term limits are first step

It's hard to admit, and harder to accept, that I'm a senior citizen (66 years of age). As such, I'm not practically proud of the fact I have not been more actively engaged in the political process throughout my adult years. I've accepted the political process (two-party system) that has resulted in the present socialistic endeavor to transform the United States of America from a "Republic" to a Marxist state. The list is long -- same sex marriage, government dependence, drug enforcement, rights without responsibility, and the ultimate betrayal, abortion.

I hope and pray (for the sake of my grandchildren) the trend will be reversed. I fervently believe term limits in the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate will go a long way to correct the downward spiral of culpability within our government.

To that end, consider the current contest between incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts and Dr. Milton Wolf. My American Rifleman Magazine ran a full-page ad endorsing Roberts but failed to mention Wolf also defends our right to bear arms. Think about it, (whatever side of the political pill you're willing to swallow) it's about endorsements and political favor that drives our elected officials. Carrier politicians are why government (local, state and federal) does not work well.

First and foremost, consider Wolf as the next U.S. senator from our great state of Kansas. Secondly, insist Wolf and seated Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., endorse and pursue legislation to establish term limits for both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
