Decker leads NCRA sport mods into 81 Speedway

Park City, Kansas - June 30, 2013 - Race number six for the Bob Howard PDC and Mopar National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sport modified division will take place this coming Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Park City.

Former tour champion and current point leader Todd Decker will lead the masses to 81 Speedway for their third appearance of the season where Robert Elliott picked up both victories. Decker holds a slim thirty-five point lead over Mark Harrison while leading rookie of the year contender Kenny Morris, defending champion Travis Johnson and Ross McCartney round out the top five and are all within 100 points of the lead.

Fresh off his victory at his home track at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas at the tours most recent event, Brandon Smith leads positions six through ten followed by Cleo Adams, Chad McNamara, Elliott and J.D. Choate.

Other tour regulars who are expected to make the trip include: Bobby McGehee, Courtney McCartney, Kyle Choate, Landon Maddox, Tim Ford, Craig Ridgway, Thomas Andsager and rookie of the year contenders Steve Little and David Fisher. Close to thirty drivers are expected to compete.

In the previous four year history of the NCRA sport mod division, eight events have been held at 81 Speedway with Elliott, Johnson and Smith both having two feature victories at the three-eighths mile oval a piece. Also picking up feature victories at the track have been Joe Adams, Todd Decker, Jeff Autry.

Pit gates will open at 5:00 PM with a start slated for 7:00 PM.

Since 1971 the NCRA has sanctioned dirt track races across the Great Plains with the series currently sanctioning five other divisions. They include modifieds, southern sport modifieds, late models, 360 sprint cars, 305 sprint cars and new mod lites. The 2013 season for the National Championship Racing Association is the 43rd anniversary season with races scheduled at sixteen different race tracks across Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.
