Races Saturday at RPM Speedway

The regular five classes return to IMCA racing action Saturday at RPM Speedway in Hays.

Saturday's 7 p.m. races will feature the modifieds, stocks, Northern sport mods, hobby stocks and sport compacts.

RPM Speedway will host Sprint Car Mania on May 24 for a special Friday show.

The night will feature the NCRA 360 sprint cars and the 305 sprint cars of the URSS. It will be the only time the sprint cars will compete in Hays this season. Races are set for 7 p.m.

Two-day Memorial Day show at WaKeeney

WaKEENEY -- The annual Memorial Day races at WaKeeney Speedway will be May 26 and 27. Races both nights will start at 6 p.m.

The Sunday night events will feature the regular four classes -- IMCA modifieds, stocks, Northern sport mods and hobby stocks -- along with the 305 sprint cars of the URSS.

The Monday night show will showcase the regular four classes.

Graham wins at Thomas County

COLBY -- Hays hobby stock driver Cody Graham won the night's feature at the newly renovated Thomas County Speedway on Sunday night in Colby.

Graham beat Richard Boon and Raymond Dechant for the win.

Ryan Baalmann won the night's econo feature, with Alex West in second and Rocky Baalmann in third.

Hill City's Clay Money won the sport mod A-main, followed by Andy Barton and Clay Sellard.

Jason Rogers kept his strong start to the season alive with a win in the stock car class, beating Colby's Jeff Tubbs and Tyler Tipton to the line.

Michael Wadel claimed the win in the modified class, with Nate Moore and Jeremy Frenier second and third, respectively.

Thomas County will be back in action at 7 p.m. Sunday.

'Hill City Hotshoe' dominates at Norton

NORTON -- Jeff Radcliffe didn't earn his first win in a sprint car until the end of the 2011 season.

Since, he's put together strong finish after strong finish, even putting himself in the mix for the national title in the URSS last year until late in the season.

This year, the driver known as the "Hill City Hotshoe" snagged his second win in a row in the Heartland Sprint Series feature Saturday night at Norton's Elmwood Park Speedway.

Radcliffe is the only HSS driver to win more than one race this season in the first four outings.

For what it's worth ...

Dodge City's Brian Herbert tied Jason Martin and Patrick Bourke for third on the career win list in the URSS after a victory Saturday night at his hometown track. Herbert now has 19 wins. C.J. Johnson has the top spot with 35 victories, while his father, Jon, is second with 20. ... Gotta love this quote by Clay Money about friend and modified driver Dylan Sherfick: "He's going to get a few more wins in his career. He's going to be the next Dave Murray."
