HAYS, KS (May 26)--David Murray Jr. of Oberlin put another notch in his belt Saturday night, May 26, at RPM Speedway in Hays, KS. Murray, the all time IMCA feature winner, picked up win #500 at the 3/8-mile oval in the Teels Trucks IMCA Modified A-feature.

Murray started 8th in the 20-car field, and by lap 4, passed leader Geoff Jermark to take a lead he would not relinquish. Murray hugged the inside lane and drove off for the victory, his third this season at Hays. Jeremy Frenier made a charge to finish second, followed by Jermark, Brendon Gemmill and Corey Lagroon. Heat race winners were Rodger Peck, Jerry Teel, Murray, and Frenie, while Nate Moore took the checkers in the B-feature.

'The Spiderman' Nick Tubbs of Colby won his third Advantage Glass Plus IMCA Stock Car feature at RPM Speedway this season. Rolan Remus led the opening lap before 'Hollywood' Shaylon Holloway took the top spot. Then on lap 7, Terry Cunningham assumed command and led the field to the halfway mark in the 20-lap event. Then on lap 12, point leader Tubbs took the lead. The lone caution waved on lap 14, giving the field a shot at the lead. Nick's brother Jeff Tubbs made a late charge but had to settle for the runner-up spot, followed by Jason Rogers, and heat race victors Austin Carter (who won the night before at Salina Speedway), and Holloway.

Jake Krone of Beloit won a caution plagued Golden Plains Trucking IMCA Northern Sport Mod main event. Clay Money led the first 11 laps before Krone made the winning pass. Krone held off the field through 3 more caution periods the final 9 laps for a trip to victory lane. Jason Nelssen, Money, Jesse Levin and Trenton Kleweno completed the top five. Heat race winners were Money and Clinton Hockersmith.

Aaron Honas of Ellis led all 15 laps in the Rebel Tank Service IMCA Hobby Stock feature. The caution flag flew on a few occasions, but each time Honas was able to hold off the 21-car field. Jeromy Wagner finished second, good enough to make him the new point leader. Brian Stich was third, followed by Austin Tammen and 'The Wild Child' Garrett Hager. Tammen, G. W. 'Cheeseburger' Fuller, and Stich were all victorious in their heat races.

The Knob Creek school bus topped the school bus feature.

It was a battle of the two heat race winners, Trevor 'The Hit Man' Schmidt and Monte Honas in the Steel Fabrications IMCA Sport Compact feature. But hometown driver Schmidt was able to lead all 12 laps for his trip to the winner's circle. Honas chased Schmidt the entire race but had to settle for the runner-up spot, followed by Shyla Hughes, Brian Lobdell and Kirk Pfannenstiel.

Casey's General Stores was the evening's race sponsor.

All five divisions return to RPM Speedway for 'Tough Enough to Wear Pink/Race for a Cure Night' on Saturday, June 9. The green flag flies at 7:00 p.m.
