SALINA, Kan. -- An old favorite has been placed on the docket for September 20th to pay tribute to a fallen racer.
The Cruisers will make their comeback with a $1,000 to win purse on the night's schedule of events. The race, named the Ryan White Memorial, has already gained attention from Cruiser drivers from across the central states. Participants in the race will have an entry fee of $100.
Ryan White, a competitor in the cruiser division, passed away in February due to complications with diabetes. He loved racing and loved the cruiser division due to the fact that he loved racing and hanging out with his friends. He is truly missed by all cruiser drivers that race at Belleville and the whole Tyler Frye Racing team, who he crew chiefed for.
The rules for the cruisers are simple: a minimum weight of 3,800 lbs., an 8 inch wheel, a 108 inch wheelbase, and all cars must be stock appearing. Aside from that and the normal safety items it's a "run what ya brung" contest. The cruisers feature two competitors in the car, with the driver running the steering wheel and brake pedal while the passenger runs the throttle.
Also on the card for that night are the IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, IMCA SportMods, and IMCA Hobby Stocks. Race time is set for 8:00PM.
